Mrs. Shama S. Sardesai co- author of the Traditional Taste Of Goa, is a chef par excellence. Being born in a family where cooking is considered to be more of a delight than just another chore, she took to cooking like a duck takes to water. She is also one of the few exponents of the art of “FALAAR” (making manually crafted miniature replicas of animals, fruits out of condensed milk) along with the coauthor, Mrs. Kumudini Usgaonkar. She has also developed her own delectable recipes catering to various taste-buds.
